Fuel polishing systems prevent fuel system contamination. The daily build up of condensation in a fuel tank can lead to fuel contamination through bacterial growth.
Circulation of the tank fuel through a filter will help reduce the contaminants, prolonging fuel life and reducing the build up of bacterial growth.
The simplest of fuel polishing systems involves taking the fuel from the storage tank, pumping it through a fuel filter then returning it back to the tank. This movement of the fuel and the filtration process is known as fuel conditioning or fuel polishing. See our range of fuel polishing systems.
For any fuel polishing system to be effective you should look for efficiency test certification and performance data. The current industry standard for performance is called ISO 4406, read about here, but also look for filter efficiency tests such as SAE J1488 & SAE J 1839.
